will be designed in VHDL and simulated on the MAXPLUS+2 software from ALTERA inc. The design will then be implemented on the VLSI
design kit.

COURSE A21: 16 X 8 LED DISPLAY CONTROLLER

USES

The LED display is used to display data in a host of industrial, commercial and consumer
electronic products. It is especially used in products designed for situations of
poor lighting and a rugged environment.

        2. Frequency divider for generating the scan frequency, timing and control.
        3. Generating the Time Division Multiplexed (TDM) module enable signals
        4. Design of Character Graphic ROM (CGROM).
        5. Design of font file for CGROM.
        6. Design of DUAL PORT VIDEO RAM (VRAM).
        7. Interfacing 8/16 bit CPUs to VRAM.
